OUR STORY

UNDERSTATEMENT was formed on November 1st, 2020 by guitarist Sully Dunn, bassist Bala Rice, and drummer Brett Mullen. Starting out as an upbeat, energetic punk band with poppy hooks, they redefined and diversified their sound in 2023 with the advent of Zack Cain on drums and Zax Geraci on rhythm guitar by fusing their punk roots with rockabilly, blues, rock ‘n’ roll, and more. May 22nd, 2021 was the day UNDERSTATEMENT initially came into the public eye, releasing their debut single “Hell Who Cares” and playing their first ever show. Since then, they have played over 50 gigs in the city of Pittsburgh and beyond, averaging one show every other week. They’ve opened for superstars like A Wilhelm Scream, Dollar Signs, THICK, Jigsaw Youth, and Bad Luck. UNDERSTATEMENT played their final show on August 4th, 2023 and all members have gone on to work with other music projects.
